It has been a busy few weeks for the Superwinch crew! With SEMA in the mix, November is always a huge month in the automotive world, and 2025 was no exception. We traded the neon lights of the convention center for the dust of the open desert, hitting two of the coolest events on the calendar: the 2025 LA Auto Show and the 2nd annual PreRunner Paradise in Johnson Valley.
Here’s a look at what we got up to.
Scouting The Future At The LA Auto Show
First up, we headed to the Los Angeles Convention Center for the 2025 LA Auto Show. The energy this year was incredible, especially for those of us who love dirt. The place was buzzing with overland builds, and it’s clear that enthusiasts are leaning harder than ever into off-road capability.
Seeing legendary names like Scout Motors represented and getting a sneak peek of latest off-road trims from the major players confirmed what we already knew: adventure is in, and it’s here to stay. We got an eyeful of the new concept rigs that are pushing boundaries – the perfect kickoff to our week.
Film, Dust, And Horsepower: PreRunner Paradise
After getting our fill of shiny paint jobs, we headed out to where the real action happens: Johnson Valley.
We were there for PreRunner Paradise, a motorsports film festival hosted by Terra Crew in late November. If you haven’t been to this event, put it on your calendar for next year. The vibe is unmatched – imagine hundreds of prerunners, overland rigs, and dirt bikes gathering at Lasertown in the heart of King of the Hammers country.
We spent the day checking out fabrication booths, watching the Baja 1000 stream on the big screen, and hanging out with the community. When the sun went down, the massive drive-in screen lit up with short films celebrating the people who make off-road culture so great. There’s nothing quite like camping under the desert sky surrounded by that much horsepower.
Testing The Gear: Trail Running In Johnson Valley
You can’t go to Johnson Valley and not hit the trails. Since we were already out in the dirt, the Superwinch crew took the opportunity to stretch the legs of our rigs and get some trail running in.
It was also the perfect testing ground for the Winch2Go 4000SR. If you aren’t familiar with it, this is our winch in a box solution. It’s a fully portable 4,000-lb winch with synthetic rope or steel wire rope, built on a powder-coated steel base plate that protects the motor and gears.
Because it’s portable, you aren’t limited to a fixed mount on your bumper. As long as you have a battery source and an anchor point – whether it’s a rock, a tree, or another vehicle – you can recover just about anything, anywhere.
We put it to work during the event to show just how versatile it is. You don’t always need a permanent winch to get out of a sticky situation; sometimes, you just need the right gear in your trunk.

Whether you’re walking the carpet at the Auto Show or aired down in the rocks of Johnson Valley, Superwinch winches are always looking for the next adventure. We’ve been building industry-leading winches for trucks, Jeeps, SUVs, and off-road vehicles for decades. Check out our online catalog and order your winch today. See you on the trails!
