YouTuber Tim Jensen of It’s a Dad’s Life gave his 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara a serious upgrade, and by “serious,” we mean a rugged Superwinch SX 10K winch with synthetic rope. Tim did learn a bit throughout the process and shared a few tips on installation:
- Remove the air box before installation; it’s easier to get to the wires
- Always pretension a synthetic rope
- The wireless remote is attached to the wiring harness in the box
- The control box is relocatable
When asked by his followers whether he is still happy with his SX winch after several months, Tim told them that he’s used the winch for everything from moving trees to snow recovery and off-roading…and it’s working great.
